We are Fight the Good Fight, a non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting those in our community affected by brain tumors.
We do this by focusing on the following:
A memorial race was started in honor of Michel Garcia. The month of May was chosen because May is national brain cancer awareness month (Silver ribbon). The distance of 7k was chosen because Michel passed in the July. The 1.7 mile distance optional turnaround was chosen because the number 17 was Michel lucky number, which you will also see consistent on race bibs.

Brain and CNS tumors are the most prevalent form of pediatric cancer in kids and you adults under 19.
More than 13,657 children, under 14 are estimated to be living with a brain tumor in the United States.
On average, 69.8% of brain tumors are non-malignant and 30.2% of the tumors are malignant.
With only 6.8% of people affected with GMB surviving after five year, continuing brain tumor research is more important than ever.
