According to the National Brain Tumor Society1, “today, an estimated 700,000 people in the United States are living with a primary Brian Tumor, and over 86,000 more will be diagnosed in 2019. Brain Tumors can be deadly, significantly impact quality of life and change everything for a patient and their loved ones. They do not discriminate, inflicting men, women, and children of all races and ethnicities”, with the most prevalent brain tumor types in adults being “Gliomas (such as glioblastoma, ependymomas, astrocytomas, and oligodendrogliomas), which make up 81% of malignant brain tumors.” These tumors are usually very aggressive and attack the surrounding brain tissue. Among children as well, “ morethan 28,000 children (0-19 years of age) are estimated to be living with a Brain Tumor in the US.”.

What is Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common malignant brain tumor. These tumors are usually very aggressive and attack the surrounding brain tissue. It is a rare form of cancer affecting 2-3 people for every 100, 000 per year. Symptoms include headaches, seizures, nausea and memory loss. Linda has established this non-profit to help other families with loved ones dealing with glioblastoma Multiforme. With this effort she hopes to provide financial relief for the families for many of the cost associate with battling the disease and to shed light on this type of brain cancer and spread the word to help find a cure.
